Lead Designer
2022 -2024
HQ: New York, USA
Worked remotely from Germany with teams in the USA, Canada and Kenya
I took on a pivotal role at Subkit and my mission was clear: to steer the product and the team back onto the right path, ensuring that we met our objectives effectively.
Upon a meticulous analysis of the product and a deep understanding of its requirements, I initiated a collaborative effort with the CEO and the Head of Engineering. Together, we embarked on an ambitious journey to identify and prioritize the most pressing needs of the product. Our aim was to enhance the overall user experience by introducing critical features that the platform urgently required.
Over the course of the next six months, our collective efforts bore fruit as we executed a comprehensive overhaul. This involved not only introducing new features but also revamping the brand identity and design elements. We meticulously crafted a design system that would serve as the foundation for the platform's new look and feel. Simultaneously, we launched a range of innovative features and products to enhance the platform's offering.
My main areas of work:

From subscriptions to brand/creator collaboration
When I joined Subkit as Lead Designer, the company was at a critical juncture. The product had potential but lacked direction—users were confused by the interface, the brand felt inconsistent, and the team was struggling to prioritize features. My mission was clear: steer the product and team back onto the right path while building a design system that could scale with our ambitious growth plans.
Subkit was building the world's first collaboration network for subscription businesses, integrating with Shopify to create seamless e-commerce experiences. The platform needed to handle everything from digital products and events to physical goods, all while enabling revenue-sharing and cross-promotion between brands and creators.
Over six months, I led a comprehensive overhaul that included a complete brand refresh, new design system, and critical feature launches. The result was a platform that finally delivered on its promise—making subscription business management intuitive and collaboration effortless.

The Challenge
Taking over as Lead Designer at Subkit meant inheriting a product that had lost its way. The interface was cluttered and confusing, the brand felt inconsistent across touchpoints, and the team was struggling to prioritize features in a market that was rapidly evolving. Users were abandoning the platform because it was too complex to navigate.
The technical complexity was immense—we needed to integrate with Shopify, handle multiple product types (digital, physical, events), manage complex revenue-sharing models, and create seamless collaboration tools. All while competing against established players like Shopify itself, Stripe, and various creator platforms.
As the sole designer leading a remote team across multiple time zones, I had to quickly establish design processes, build a scalable design system, and deliver results fast enough to keep the company competitive in a fast-moving market.
The Solution
I started with a complete product audit and user research to understand what was broken. Then I rebuilt the entire design system from scratch, creating components that could handle the complexity while feeling simple to use. The key was progressive disclosure—hiding complexity until users needed it.
I established clear design processes and built a remote design team that could move fast while maintaining quality. We focused on the core user journey: setting up a store, managing subscriptions, and finding collaboration opportunities. Every feature was designed to reduce friction and increase conversion.
The result was a platform that finally delivered on its promise—making subscription business management intuitive and collaboration effortless. Users could set up stores in minutes, manage complex revenue-sharing with simple interfaces, and discover new collaboration opportunities through smart recommendations.
Subkit Store Front
The Subkit Store Front was designed to be the first thing customers see when they visit a subscription business. The challenge was creating a template that could work for any type of subscription—from digital courses to physical products—while maintaining a consistent, professional look that built trust with potential customers.
I focused on clean, minimal design that put the product front and center. The interface needed to handle complex subscription logic (tiers, billing cycles, trials) while feeling as simple as a regular e-commerce store. Users could customize colors, fonts, and layouts without breaking the core functionality.
The store front integrated seamlessly with Shopify, allowing businesses to manage inventory, process payments, and handle fulfillment through familiar tools. The design system ensured consistency across all store fronts while giving each business the flexibility to express their brand.
The result was a store front that converted visitors into subscribers at a rate that exceeded industry benchmarks. Businesses could launch professional-looking stores in minutes, not weeks, and customers could easily understand and purchase subscription products.
Customizable templates for any subscription business
Seamless Shopify integration for inventory and payments
Mobile-responsive design optimized for conversions
Built-in subscription logic and billing management
Subkit Store Managment
The Subkit Store Management dashboard was the nerve center where subscription businesses could control every aspect of their operation. The challenge was creating an interface that could handle complex subscription logic—multiple tiers, billing cycles, trials, cancellations, and revenue-sharing—while feeling intuitive to use.
I designed a modular dashboard that could be customized based on the business type and complexity. The interface used progressive disclosure to hide advanced features until needed, while keeping the most common actions easily accessible. The design system ensured consistency across all management tools while allowing for business-specific customizations.
The dashboard integrated with Shopify for inventory management, Stripe for payment processing, and various marketing tools for customer communication. The result was a unified workspace where businesses could manage their entire subscription operation without switching between multiple platforms.
- Subscription tier and billing cycle management
- Customer lifecycle and churn analytics
- Revenue tracking and forecasting
- Automated email campaigns and notifications
- Collaboration and partnership management
- Integration with Shopify, Stripe, and marketing tools
Collabs.io Creator Store
Collabs.io was designed to solve a fundamental problem in the creator economy: finding the right brand partnerships. Creators were spending hours manually searching for collaboration opportunities, while brands struggled to discover authentic creators who aligned with their values and audience.
The Creator Store became a centralized marketplace where creators could showcase their collaboration products—from sponsored content to product placements to long-term partnerships. The challenge was creating a discovery experience that felt natural and authentic, not like a traditional e-commerce platform.
I designed a recommendation system that matched creators with brands based on audience demographics, content style, and collaboration history. The interface emphasized visual storytelling and authentic connections over transactional relationships. The result was a platform where meaningful partnerships could flourish.
- Creator profile and portfolio showcase
- AI-powered brand matching algorithm
- Collaboration product catalog
- Revenue sharing and payment processing
- Performance analytics and insights
- Direct messaging and negotiation tools
Branding & Marketing
When I joined Subkit, the brand felt inconsistent and unprofessional—a major barrier to gaining trust in the competitive subscription business market. The visual identity was scattered across different touchpoints, and the marketing materials didn't clearly communicate the platform's value proposition.
I led a complete brand overhaul, creating a unified visual identity that positioned Subkit as a professional, trustworthy platform for serious subscription businesses. The new brand system included a refined logo, color palette, typography, and design language that worked across all touchpoints—from the website to marketing materials to the platform itself.
The marketing strategy focused on clear, benefit-driven messaging that spoke directly to subscription business owners' pain points. I designed landing pages, email templates, and social media assets that converted visitors into users. The result was a cohesive brand experience that built trust and clearly communicated Subkit's unique value in the market.
