Aiobis Overview

As Head of Product & Design, I was responsible for defining the MVP, aligning features, and ensuring the platform worked as one cohesive system.

My main focus was establishing a strong foundation while looking ahead to future innovations. That meant designing the core feature set in a way that could evolve without adding friction, and making AI an invisible layer that enhances every interaction.

Instead of bolting AI on top of existing tools, the challenge was to weave intelligence into the fabric of the product—streamlining communication, automating repetitive tasks, and guiding decision-making. At the same time, usability remained central: features had to be intuitive, fast, and under the user’s control. This balance of innovation and simplicity became the guiding principle for how Aiobis grew from concept to working product.

Building a product like Aiobis meant tackling extraordinary complexity—every feature could stand as a product on its own (think Slack, Microsoft Teams, Salesforce, LinkedIn). Taking on all of these giants at once, with a lean startup team and limited resources, was a daunting challenge. But we chose to do it anyway. Our goal wasn’t just to compete—it was to set new standards in each area by combining innovation, user-centric design, and pragmatic execution.

The Challenge

Building a comprehensive business suite meant competing against established giants—Slack, Microsoft Teams, Salesforce, LinkedIn—each with years of development and massive resources. The real challenge wasn't just technical complexity, but creating something that felt cohesive rather than fragmented. Users were drowning in tool sprawl, constantly switching between apps, losing context, and dealing with data silos that made collaboration painful.

The AI integration presented another layer of complexity. Most AI tools felt like bolt-on features rather than native intelligence. Users had to learn new interfaces, trust black-box decisions, and often found AI more frustrating than helpful. We needed to make AI invisible yet powerful—enhancing every interaction without adding cognitive load.

With a lean startup team and limited resources, we had to be strategic about what to build first, how to create a unified experience, and how to deliver value quickly while building toward a larger vision.

The Solution

We designed Aiobis as a unified ecosystem where every tool shares the same data, context, and intelligence. Instead of building separate products, we created interconnected modules that work together seamlessly. The MADDS Core Intelligence engine became the invisible thread connecting everything—enabling AI to understand context across all tools and provide relevant assistance without users having to think about it.

Our approach prioritized user control and transparency. AI suggestions are always reviewable and adjustable, combining the power of automation with human oversight. We focused on familiar interaction patterns—clicks, drags, simple forms—rather than forcing users to learn complex AI interfaces.

The result was a platform that felt like one cohesive product rather than a collection of tools. Users could start their day with a personalized Intelligence Board, seamlessly move between communication, project management, and sales tools, all while AI quietly enhanced their workflow in the background.

This backbone powers continuous product innovation and was the foundation for a suite of AI tools that were ahead of their time.

The Intelligence Board replaces traditional dashboards with a personalized overview that adapts to each user. Tasks, goals, appointments, tasks, leads, and other data are managed in one place—automated, customizable, and always just a click away.

Alongside sits a streamlined AI chat, combining leading LLMs with MADDS Core Intelligence. Unlike conventional assistants, it lets users review and adjust actions before execution, preventing missteps and eliminating the cycle of endless corrections.

Implementing AI wasn’t just a technical hurdle—it also meant balancing automation with user control. Full reliance on prompts can be inefficient, while familiar interaction elements like a simple click often work best. By combining both, the product delivers powerful intelligence without losing speed or ease of use.

At the core of Aiobis are its productivity tools—the workspace where organizations organize, collaborate, and communicate. We reimagined staples like email, chat, meetings, storage, calendars, and project management, offering not only improved solutions but entirely new ways of thinking about how teams work together.

Drawing on my experience as founding and lead designer at Proton (ProtonMail, ProtonDrive, ProtonCalendar, ProtonVPN, etc.), I was able to rapidly innovate in familiar areas while pushing into new territory. That included advanced video conferencing with playful lobby experiences and AI-powered integrations, as well as a next-generation project management system. This system doesn’t just track tasks—it maps resources, workloads, and dependencies to deliver actionable insights, predict bottlenecks, and highlight opportunities for smoother collaboration.

Traditional prospecting has become a numbers game: blast thousands of cold emails and hope a few convert. The outcome? Overwhelmed inboxes, eroded trust, and massive financial and organizational waste. Even with AI, this approach only scales the problem—multiplying spam instead of solving it. Aiobis takes a different path.

Prospecting within Aiobis is built on mutual interest. Recipients only see offers they’ve expressed openness to, matched intelligently through AI, personal settings, and company context. LinkedIn has drifted into social media with a professional touch, while Crunchbase offers company data without real networking. Aiobis positions itself directly in between—combining depth of information with genuine professional connection.

The networking module is fully integrated into the Aiobis ecosystem. Contacts link seamlessly to chats, emails, or video meetings, and leads can be converted straight from a profile. Individual user profiles connect to company profiles, creating an interconnected system where communication, collaboration, and insights flow naturally.

Within this network, professionals can access company metrics, discover new partners, and build meaningful relationships. They can publish official announcements, share private updates, and interact in a space designed for business first. Aiobis makes networking not just an add-on, but a core driver of productivity and growth.
